Feisty Feast No. 12
Housed in Janaki Larsen’s Atelerier St. George in Vancouver, the setting of the Feisty Feast ‘Body Image’ event was inspired by the concept of wabi-sabi, or finding beauty in the imperfect. Each of the dinner plates were unique and imperfect, a poetic alignment with the theme of the evening: women’s relationships with their body. The 40 guests in attendance imbibed on sparkling citrus Prosecco punch and a selection of wines, and spent the evening feasting on sumptuous vegetarian food, including: sourdough served with duck eggs; aioli and rosehip beets, spiced carrots and purple sauerkraut; organic kabocha squash with quinoa and almonds; and a beet and endive salad with orange and creme fraiche. An imperfectly perfect evening all round.
